Burningman
A lot of people ask me about burningman, and I don't know quite what to say. for now (until I think of someting to write) I am going to post part of an e-mail I got from "Otto Goat" on Dioxin:
"As much as I appreciate the great art at [Burning Man], I appreciate the crappy art more. Every bad statue, painting, art car or theme camp give me permission to apply my limited skills to my own art. If I thought all the art at [Burning Man] was going to be great I wouldn't even try. Knowing that there are a lot of other hacks like myself creating art that's nowhere near perfect makes it easier for me to make the effort."
this is reposted without permission (sorry) but when I read this e-mail I just knew I had to keep it... It really sums it up for me in some odd way.
